This is my new studio on the Arts Walk at Monroe Street Market, 716 Monroe Street, NE, Washington DC 20017, Studio #16. It is steps from the Red Line Brookland/CUA Metro stop. On Thursday, June 5, from 6:00 until 10:00pm I will be hosting a launch party with another new studio, #13. There is free music every Thursday on the Arts Walk and many studios are open.
Much of the art work on this website can be seen at Black Lab, and on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday mornings the Physical Language Reading Room is open. This is a comfortable place to read artists books and other physical texts. Eventually I will be offering a curated selection of other artists’ works that demonstrate the possibilities of physical language. This is text that depends for its meaning on its physical presence.
I create and show my work in this space and am there most days (except Wednesday and Sunday) from 10:30am until 2:30 or 3:00. On Thursdays I reopen at about 5:00pm and stay open until 8:00. On Fridays I am open all day, from 10:30am until 7:00pm. There is a Farmers Market on the Arts Walk every Saturday during the summer and my studio will be open Saturdays from 9:00am until 1:30pm. Every third Thursday of the month there is a general open studio for many of the artists on the Arts Walk. So come see me sometime!
Very exciting. Next time I visit!!!
